The talks centered on expanding and improving UNICEF-supported development programs and essential services across Somaliland, with particular focus on education, water and sanitation, healthcare, and child welfare.
President Cirro emphasized the need for effective and transparent cooperation between the Somaliland government and international organizations. He underscored that projects implemented in Somaliland must directly meet the real needs of the population and align with the national priorities of the Republic of Somaliland.
Ms. Lattouf, on her part, thanked the President for the meeting and commended his leadership. She reassured him that UNICEF remains a reliable partner for Somaliland, committed to supporting social development and the protection of children’s rights.
She also highlighted the strong working relationship between UNICEF and Somaliland institutions, pledging that the organization will continue to strengthen its support through joint initiatives with government bodies, local communities, and the private sector. “Our mission is to ensure every child has access to quality services and the opportunity for a better future,” she said.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to enhance cooperation and build on the existing partnership between Somaliland and UNICEF.
