“Our forces will take decisive measures against anyone who disrupts national security, and they will be presented to the courts,” declared Major General Abdirahman Abdilahi Hassan, the Commander of the Somaliland Police Force. He underscored that the police are fully prepared to enforce the law without hesitation in order to protect the peace and safety of the nation.
The announcement follows growing debate over a proposed gathering at Xawaadle Ground. According to police officials, there is no agreement among relevant parties to hold the meeting, and as a result, it will not be allowed to proceed. Authorities emphasized that public events must be properly coordinated and approved to ensure they do not pose risks to security or public order.
Major General Hassan reaffirmed that the police remain committed to safeguarding Somaliland’s stability and will act swiftly against anyone seeking to create unrest. He called on citizens to cooperate with law enforcement, respect legal procedures, and prioritize the nation’s collective security.
The statement serves as a reminder of the government’s zero-tolerance stance toward actions that could incite disorder or threaten Somaliland’s hard-won peace.
